Using Census reports for information about the grandparents and mothers of Bob Gay and Lillie Parker Gay

Since we’re in the final days of Black History Month for 2014, it’s a good time to turn a proud, yet investigative eye on some of the Gay-Parker family history.

Most of us know that Pa Bob Gay’s mother’s name was Arie and that Ma Lillie Parker Gay’s mother’s name was Jenny. The two census reports in this post will identify the mother and father of Arie Gay(Bob Gay’s mother) and Jenny Parker(Lillie Parker Gay’s mother).

The census reports are from Ancestry.com.

Take a few minutes to analyze and gather a few facts from the Jacob Gay Census Report of 1870 and the Dempsey Parker Census Report from 1880.
